Brisk Walk in Helmsley & Duncombe Park | North Yorkshire Walking Route
Today I performed a brisk walk in brisk conditions at Duncombe Park Helmsley.
Although I generally hike further, this was a brisk walk rather than a rural walk. Therefore it only took an hour before boarding the bus back home.
Cold Weather Day
Granted, the weather was especially cold and this was actually to my advantage. Firstly, you don’t sweat when you are in cold weather. Secondly, the ground was solid and not marshy so it was suitable for doing a brisk walk on!
No time to sit on the Simon Seat as I was recording this brisk walk on my Apple Watch.
Walking Alongside the River Rye
The route takes me along the River Rye for a time that begins its journey in Cleveland, gathering water as it passes through the North York Moors.
Walk For Heat
Fortunately, walking at a brisk speed does tend to generate a little warmth so no need for hat and gloves. I hate wearing a hat and gloves.
As far as short walks are concerned, this is one of my favourite and it’s a fantastic dog walk also.
